#TooBusyToAttend: Swiss Cyber Security Days
Where The Builders Actually Are
Janusz Nowakowski · February 2026 · Bern, Switzerland · Original post
After the speeches I walked the exhibition floor with a microphone. If the stage was the cathedral, the floor was the bazaar.
And the bazaar matters.
Because the argument on stage was that European supply exists but demand does not see it. So I wanted to see the supply.
hosttech
hosttech is a Swiss hosting provider with its own infrastructure in the DACH region. Clients choose them because they want a local counterpart. You are not a ticket number in a global queue. If you want to see your servers, someone walks you into the data center.
Rublon
Rublon is a European MFA provider with a complete product offering already deployed in Switzerland. Deep Windows integration. Support for legacy environments. Phishing resistant authentication. The company is based in Poland and sells into the Swiss market. That cross-border cooperation is not theory. It is operational.
RedHat
At the RedHat booth I heard the most grounded sentence of the event. AI can generate code quickly. Maintaining it in production is another story. Debugging, scaling, securing, upgrading. That still requires experienced engineers. If anything, the value of senior engineering goes up when prototyping becomes cheap.
Clue Security Services AG
Clue Security Services AG, a Swiss security company, starts from business logic instead of product catalogues. Before proposing tooling, they ask how the company actually operates and what it can realistically manage. That sounds simple. It is rare.
What stayed with me
The alternatives are not abstract. They exist. They ship product. They sell into real markets.
The open question is not whether Europe can build. It is whether enough companies are willing to buy.
If you are building in cloud, identity, AI or security in Europe, this is not a policy debate. It is a market moment.
Infrastructure decisions are architecture decisions.
